Congress has the duty to oversee them, and I’m especially passionate about
the Every Kid Outdoors program, which provides fourth graders and their
families with free access to National Parks. I introduced the Every Kid
Outdoors Act earlier this year to permanently fund this program—without
Congressional action, this program will expire in 2026.
My bill would permanently fund this program and expand it to fifth grade
students. Letting Every Kid Outdoors die would be a huge loss not just for

Making our parks more accessible allows students to learn about public
lands, keeps kids healthy, lets families take affordable vacations, and
boosts local economies—a win for everyone. My family has made so many
memories at National Parks across the country, and it’s an opportunity
everyone should have. Here’s my daughter Betsy and I on our most recent
National Park adventure to Pinnacles National Park in Central California.
Wherever you live, I hope you’re able to get outside and enjoy one of our
country’s incredible National Parks sometime soon.
