Hi, Samuel. I'm Jess, the new CEO of the Democratic Party.

I'm excited to be joining Tom, the rest of the team at DNC HQ, and
all of our amazing supporters like you to rebuild our party from the
grassroots up -- because I've seen the power of grassroots
movements in action.

I got my start in politics helping elect Democrats in Colorado, Illinois,
and my home state of Arizona, where we turned Arizona's 1st
congressional district from red to blue.

We did it because we got organized in our communities and went block
by block, neighborhood by neighborhood, to get the word out about
what we believed in and turn out our voters to the polls on Election Day.

At EMILY's List, where I've been helping elect Democratic women for the
past four years, I saw how we can do that same kind of grassroots
organizing on a national scale. That's how we elected the most diverse
Congress in history, including quadrupling the number of Democratic
women of color in the Senate.

If we organize in every zip code, we can elect Democrats from school
board to Senate in every corner of this country. I know, as Tom does, that
we can do it -- but it's going to take all of us working together to get our
party back in fighting form.
