For individuals like Cazembe, a Black trans man who made the decision to have an abortion as he was going through a deep depression after being raped in college – depression that only worsened when he found out he was pregnant. Cazembe faced numerous barriers to accessing the care he needed, from prohibitive costs to facing aggressive protestors outside the clinic.

"Abortion comes with a lot of stigma in general. For trans men, it comes with the added stigma of your gender identity."

Stories like Cazembe's demonstrate an undeniable truth: Abortion is essential, and it is lifesaving care.
