I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Pro-Hamas Protests

Instead of learning skills or the history of America, we have college students marching in the streets as anti-Semitic terrorist sympathizers.

We must stop the attempts to create home-grown terrorist cells on our soil. Americans should never support terrorists over innocent people fighting for freedom from oppression.

These protestors are on the streets of America saying, “we are Hamas” and “long live Hamas.” We should treat anyone who identifies with Hamas as a terrorist combatant who shares responsibility for the violent attacks against Israel.

These terrorist sympathizers have shut down classes at Columbia University as they terrorize the Jewish students there. In October, Congressman Jim Banks and I called on student visa holders who support Hamas to be deported. I’m renewing that call today.

We are seeing pro-Hamas protests at Columbia University because radicals like Charlotte Kates and Khaled Barakat tell students that terrorists are revolutionaries and that hijacking planes is to be praised.

This is not a “liberation movement,” it is a terrorist campaign to permanently destroy Israel.

Who Do Democrats Represent?

Last Saturday as Democrats voted to send your tax dollars to Ukraine, they stood in solidarity waving the Ukrainian flag on the Floor of the US House.

How many of those Democrats would stand up and sing the American National Anthem?

Do they represent Ukrainians or Americans?

Reliable, Affordable Energy

In leading the Subcommittee on Energy, Climate, and Grid Security, I look at energy in two categories: transportation fuels and power generation. In both categories, our focus is on delivering reliable, affordable, and clean energy for all Americans.

Instead of ensuring reliable, affordable, and clean energy that keeps the lights on for Americans, Joe Biden and AOC are focused on sending your tax dollars to China for solar panels.

Here’s the problem, China is building coal-fired power plants to make these solar panels.

American LNG is the cleanest in the world. We need to use commonsense, all-the-above energy policies that ensure baseload power generation to keep the lights on for Americans. Then, we can look at renewables and how they can work in tandem with baseload power.

Renewables alone will result in blackouts and brownouts. In SC, solar energy starts and ends at zero—power is only generated when the sun is up and not covered by clouds.

Data Privacy

Recently, during a hearing, I questioned witnesses about the biggest threat that lawmakers need to focus on to protect citizens.

In Congress, I’m committed to protecting the data privacy of Americans, but especially focusing on the protecting kids and teens.

It’s clear that tech giants like TikTok which is owned by the CCP are a clear and present threat. Hear the witnesses testimony here.

Stopping the FCC's Power Grab

Recently, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a draft order that violates the Communications Act of 1934 by making broadband internet a public utility.

Rest In Peace

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and staff of Congressman Donald M. Payne Jr. following his passing on Wednesday.

Early in my career, Rep. Payne and I served on the Homeland Security Committee together.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R.8091, Representative Good’s bill to prohibit federal funding of National Public Radio (NPR) and prevent federal grant money from being used to purchase content or pay dues to NPR.

I cosponsored H.R.8083, Representative Banks’ bill to prohibit federal funding of National Public Radio (NPR) and prevent federal grant money from being used to purchase content or pay dues to NPR.

I cosponsored H.R.8060, Representative Van Orden’s bill to require appropriate elected officials be notified before refugees are placed in a state.

In the District

On May 28, the Anderson County Veterans Affairs Office will host a workshop and claims clinic at the Anderson Civic Center from 9a–3p.

Lake Murray in Newberry County will host the 2024 USA Kayak Fishing Team Qualifier later this year. The event will bring in 75 top anglers as they battle it out for the remaining spots on the USA Kayak Fishing Team.
