Dear John,
In the words of N*SYNC... It's gonna be May!
May Day, or International Workers Day, is on May 1st. Every year, DSA joins a coalition of labor unions, immigrant justice groups, and grassroots organizations across Los Angeles for a march and rally to celebrate and stand in solidarity with workers and oppressed groups, demanding better living and working conditions.
This year's May Day theme is "Solidarity is Power: The People United" and the core demands are Housing for All, Ceasefire Now, Citizenship Now, and the Right to Strike.
Join us for the march -- RSVP here!
Twenty years ago in Los Angeles, there was a mass demonstration of 1 million immigrants and workers. Building a movement of that scale required a lot of work and organizing. In addition to asking all our members to march as with DSA, we also ask you to help us mobilize other members and socialists.
We are phonebanking our members to ask that they join us in marching on May Day. Calling our comrades is easy and fun! If you are new, we will train you on phone banking, and you will have a great time!
Join us for May Day turnout phonebanks:
Sunday, April 28 at 6:00 pm
If you cannot join us in phone banking, sign up for the March here. Hundreds of our members will march, and it will be a party!
Hope to see you there!
