John: Texas is in play. Let me tell you why this year the stars are lining up for us in the Lone Star State.

We have the candidate in Colin Allred. He’s been fighting for North Texas in Congress for five years, and he’s exactly who you want fighting for you in the Senate.

Colin is a fourth-generation Texan and his roots run deep in the Lone Star State. He was born and raised in Dallas by a single mom, who was a public school teacher and sometimes worked two jobs to make ends meet.

Thanks to his family and a strong support system of teachers, coaches, and the good folks at the YMCA, Colin earned a full ride football scholarship to Baylor University and then went on to play in the NFL. After five years as a linebacker in the NFL, he went on to become a voting rights lawyer and served in the Obama Administration. Then in 2018, he ran against a 22-year GOP incumbent and won by 7 points to help take back the House.

Now, Colin is running for Senate against Ted Cruz, who CNN ranked the most vulnerable Republican Senator on the ballot this year. Ted Cruz knows he’s on thin ice: He won his last election by just 2.6% and two recent polls show Ted TIED with Colin. With polling numbers this tight, this year’s election is ours for the taking.
