We’re going to get through these next two weeks. We’ll look back on these two
weeks and realize we did the right things

Friend,

“What we do today, what we do tomorrow, is going to have a direct impact on
where we are two weeks from now.” –Governor Holcomb

Today Governor Holcomb officially extended Indiana’s stay-at-home executive
order for another two weeks. The new Executive Order also sets out specific
guidelines for retail businesses.

Retail business that provide necessities of life may remain open if they:

* Limit the number of customers in a store at any one time.
* Adjust hours to accommodate vulnerable populations, such as the elderly.
* Limit hours so they can restock and clean.
* Comply with all mitigation measures to protect employees and customers.

Other retail businesses may remain open if they restrict sales to online or
call-in ordering with delivery or curbside pickup. Examples of retail stores
that do not provide necessities of life are (but not limited to) bookstores,
craft and fabric stores, beauty supply stores and florists.

Additionally, Governor Holcomb announced all campgrounds will be closed except
to those who use recreational vehicles or cabins as their primary residence.
This includes campgrounds within Indiana State Parks. However, state parks will
remain open to daily visitors.

“We have this in us. I’m seeing it all over the state of Indiana. There are
so many people putting their communities, their neighbors, our entire state
ahead of themselves.”

Governor Holcomb and his COVID-19 task-force project that we are at the very
beginning of the COVID-19 surge.

This prohibition of large gatherings is difficult, especially during Holy
Week. But, as Governor Holcomb said, the Church is a body, not a building. He’s
grateful to all the faith leaders who arestreaming their services online so
members can continue to practice their faith, while staying safe and healthy at
home.

This virus does not discriminate, it does not care what crowd you’re in or how
you practice your faith, if you do at all. We need to take every possible
measure we can to mitigate risk, slow the spread and flatten the curve.

“We’re going to get through these next two weeks. We’ll look back on these two
weeks and realize we did the right things. And when I say “we,” I don’t mean
state government, I mean all of us. We the people.”
