Friend --

On April 25, 1945, American and Russian soldiers joyfully embraced as brothers when they finally met on the banks of the Elbe River, having finally broken the Nazi line.? They knew that victory would soon follow.? The Soviet Union had lost 27 million people in World War II, close to one out of every 6 Russians.? No family was untouched.

Sen. Chuck Schumer and his junior partner Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand can't even fathom how it looks to a Russian family for German tanks to once more be rolling toward their border, with the U.S. President expressing an intent to "weaken Russia."? The House and Senate have just shamelessy voted to send nearly $100 bn more to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, completely oblivious to the massive death and suffering these weapons are inflicting.

I have invited historian William Jones of EIR to join me in discussing the Meeting on the Elbe, which occurred 79 years ago, in hopes that it may inspire us to revive the "better Angels" of our own national identity.
