At Muslim Advocates, we are committed to ensuring that the American Muslim community has access to both the representation and the resources we need to thrive.

That’s why we’re spending so much time educating our community about the funding that’s available through the coronavirus stimulus bill, known as the CARES Act. Last week, we hosted an informational webinar with leading experts to ensure that our community has all of the resources necessary to apply for this critical funding. Almost 300 organizations from across the country signed up for the webinar and asked important questions about how this funding can benefit them. We need your help to spread the word.

Here’s what organizations need to know:

• Nonprofits, mosques, and small businesses may be eligible for loans of up to $10 million dollars through the Paycheck Protection Program. Details here.
  
  According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), mosques and other organizations should be eligible to apply for the funding so long as they meet the requirements of a 501(c)(3) under the Internal Revenue Code even if not formally registered with the Internal Revenue Service as one.
   
• This program is first come-first served and is already incredibly popular. We recommend that you apply as soon as possible. Download the application.
   
• The application process is quite fluid and there is still some confusion about it. Watch our webinar, download our resource document, and access additional information.

We will continue to update our dedicated webpage with relevant information as we receive it. It’s vital that our community institutions are able to benefit from this program.
