Styrofoam Collection Event this Saturday
The Kitsap County Solid Waste Division, in partnership with DTG Recycle, is hosting a free Styrofoam Recycle Collection Event for Kitsap households on April 27, 2024. Kitsap residents are welcome to bring one vehicle load of Styrofoam per household.
When: Saturday, April 27, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: 1200 Fairgrounds Rd NW
Entrance to the event is at the intersection of Tibardis RD. NW and Fairgrounds RD NW. We’ll have signs and volunteer staff directing you.
Prepare before you go
Help us prevent litter around Kitsap by bagging your Styrofoam and securing your load before heading to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. If possible, transport your Styrofoam in an enclosed space, such as your backseat or trunk. If transporting your Styrofoam in a truck bed, make sure to strap down your bagged Styrofoam with a cargo net or tarp—it’s the law!
What items are accepted?
All Styrofoam must be clean and dry, with tape and labels removed. This includes:
- Packaging material
- Blocks
- Coolers
- Packing peanuts
- Takeout boxes
- Meat trays and cups (colored foam okay)
- #6 expanded polystyrene (EPS)
Styrofoam with excess tape or labels may be rejected.
