Daily Docket — Thursday, April 25

Here are some updates.
* In a win for voters, an Arizona judge rejected ([link removed]) a right-wing group's attempt to ban ballot drop boxes and force the state to adopt stricter rules for signature verification. Drop boxes and the current signature matching rules will remain in place. Read about this critical win for voters in this battleground state here. ([link removed])
* The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument this morning on whether former President Donald Trump is absolutely immune from criminal prosecution for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. You can listen to it here. ([link removed])
* An Arizona grand jury charged ([link removed]) seven Trump allies and 11 fake electors with felonies for trying to overturn the 2020 election. Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman and Jenna Ellis have been identified among those charged, but are unnamed in the indictment.
* Louisiana Republicans asked ([link removed]) the full 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to decide whether voters can sue to enforce the Voting Rights Act ahead of the court's decision on the state's legislative districts.
* Civil rights groups asked ([link removed]) a federal court to reconsider its decision that Florida's congressional map was not enacted with racially discriminatory intent, arguing the court did not properly weigh Gov. Ron DeSantis' (R) role in drawing the map.
