Hi John,

You can stop the ban on gas and diesel vehicles, but now’s the time to take action.

Here’s what’s happening.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has released draft regulations to phase out gas and diesel vehicles. The government will still allow dealerships to offer new gas and diesel vehicles as 80 per cent of their inventory in 2026. By 2030, that number will be down to 40 per cent – that means only four out of 10 new vehicles you’ll see at the dealership will run on gas or diesel.

The government plans to completely ban the sale of new gas and diesel vehicles in 2035.

Are you sure you’ll be able to afford an electric vehicle by the time new gas and diesel vehicles are banned?

And the bills for taxpayers will be huge. Governments are already spending billions to subsidize electric vehicles. It’s a good bet they’ll spend billions more on charging stations and transmission lines.

Here’s where the big bills will come: power plants. How will governments pay for new power plants to meet surging demand? Taxes and power bills.

If people want to buy an electric vehicle, that’s great, but it should be their choice and it’s wrong for the government to impose a ban to stop you from buying a gas or diesel vehicle. It’s even worse for the government to stick you with the bill for costs associated with the ban.

Will you sign the PETITION to stop the ban on new gas and diesel vehicles?

To the Prime Minister,

Canadians should be able to choose the type of vehicle that works best for them, whether it’s an electric vehicle or one that runs on gas or diesel.

It’s wrong to ban new gas and diesel vehicles.

We, the undersigned, call on the prime minister to protect taxpayers and say no to a ban on gas and diesel vehicles.
