New contract available for data breaches

Effective April 9, DES has a new statewide contract 21522 for data breach services. This contract succeeds contract 04715 [ [link removed] ] for data breach-credit monitoring, which expires April 30.

New contract available for toll-free calling, support services

DES has a new statewide contract 25523 for toll-free calling and support services. This contract succeeds contract 06614 [ [link removed] ] for toll-free telephone services, which expires April 30.

This contract is designed to assist with creating dedicated access to toll-free lines and routing features.

Contract changes

More language options available for spoken language interpreter services

DES expanded the language options on contract 18222 for spoken language interpreter services - IPI, OPI, and VRI (Non-CBA).

New contractors offer services in languages not previously available: NWI Global (IPI ? All Regions); Lionbridge Global Solutions II Inc. (OPI & VRI); Language Link (OPI & VRI); Anglo Language (OPI & VRI).

Rebecca Linville named permanent leader of DES Contracts & Procurement

Rebecca Linville has been named the permanent assistant director of DES Contracts & Procurement. Rebecca has served as interim assistant director since October 2023. Rebecca brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in contracting and procurement.

Jaime Rossman, former assistant director of DES Contracts & Procurement, continues to serve as interim deputy assistant director while DES engages in a competitive recruitment for that position.

New mandatory training for small purchasers is available in Washington state learning center

DES launched a new training for state agency small purchasers on April 15.

About the training:


* The training, called WA State Small Purchases, is available in the Washington State Learning Center.
* It takes about 40 minutes to complete.
* All small purchasers and procurement professionals must complete this training by Oct. 15.
* After Oct. 15, new hires or people who are newly assigned small purchasers have 90 days to complete this training.

Who is required to take the training?


* All small purchasers: Any state employee who makes low-risk purchases as part of their job. Low-risk purchases are usually simple or routine transactions for goods or services. Small purchasers include people who use purchase cards and make direct buys.
* Procurement professionals: Any subject-matter expert in the procurement process who develops a solicitation strategy, writes contracts, and posts solicitations to WEBS.
* Compliance with this training will be considered in your agency?s procurement risk assessment.
