Events & Fundraisers

Dear friends of the Fund,

As we gear up for our 142nd birthday in a few months, we’re excited to share a one-of-a-kind auction item from decades past. Plus, tickets for our Producer's Picks performances of both The Great Gatsby and The Who's Tommy are still available! But first, we take a look back on a very special night for the Fund.

Thank you for your continued dedication, and we hope to see you soon.

Auction: Eleanor Roosevelt Signature on Historic Fund Program

Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers
175 East 87th Street

A one-of-a-kind item is up for auction at Doyle from Entertainment Community Fund history: a program signed by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, from The Actors Fund of America’s (our former name) Second Annual “Salute to Broadway”! This event took place on December 21, 1956; actress Gusti Huber (The Diary of Anne Frank) collected the autograph and passed the program down to her granddaughter, actress Samantha Mathis (American Psycho). Samantha has generously donated the program to benefit the Fund.

The Who's Tommy Producer's Picks
Thursday, July 11, 7 pm ET

Nederlander Theatre
208 West 41st Street
New York, NY

In 1969, The Who created a rock opera that changed the course of music history.

After witnessing an act of violence, young Tommy Walker—played by Ali Louis Bourzgui, making his Broadway debut—goes into a state of shock, spending his time endlessly and obsessively staring into the mirror. An innate knack for pinball catapults him from reticent adolescent to celebrity savior. Myth and spectacle combine in a fresh reinvention of The Who’s exhilarating 1969 rock concept album, Tommy—including the unforgettable anthems “I’m Free,” “See Me, Feel Me,” “Sensation” and “Pinball Wizard.”
