But the oppressive systems that have power, influence, and control over our lives work to quiet our voices and constrict our rights and freedoms. It's up to us to fight against these systems to transform oppression into opportunity to have a future where we all thrive. That's where you come in.



You can help advance equity, demand inclusion, transform power, and place your trust in community as a donor partner to Headwaters. As a community foundation, your donation to Headwaters is distributed to grassroots organizations that are working to dismantle systems of oppression. Headwaters grantees work to support their communities and sustainably build power. Organizations such as Dakh?ta i?pi Okh?daki?hiye, Mizna, and The Greater Minnesota Worker Center are dedicated to revitalizing the Dakota language, empowering Arab and Muslim artists to reclaim their narratives, and advocating for workers' rights through effective organization and policy engagement. These three groups represent just a few of our 149 most recent grantee partners your donation works to support.



At a time when cuts to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs are increasing, discriminatory and unlawful policing have gone unchecked, and we head into a contentious election season, it's more important than ever to translate our values into action.
