In a recent radio interview, I was asked how I would improve constituent engagement and outreach in our district as its next Congressman. It's my favorite question. It would go something like this...
#1 — Show up.
#2 — Listen.
It's not exactly a novel idea, but it's sorely missed by our district because of a lack of representation. Our current representative, Republican Rep. Jack Bergman, doesn't even live here.
My wife and I have lived here for nearly 40 years. Yesterday, we drove 530 miles for a 19-hour day because our small, rural communities have been flown over and forgotten for far too long.
We had a full itinerary in Roscommon County.
