Saugatuck Brewing Company & Michigan DNR announce restoration commitment

"SBC making donation for each case of Rainbow Rodeo IPA sold from May to October"

Saugatuck Brewing Company and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources are joining forces DURING trout season to raise awareness and vital funds for habitat restoration initiatives across Michigan.

*During Michigan?s trout fishing season from May to October, SBC will donate for every case sold of its popular Rainbow Rodeo IPA to support the DNR?s ongoing efforts to protect and restore habitat that fish and wildlife rely on.*

The partnership was announced Thursday morning at a press conference on the banks of the Rogue River near Rockford, one of West Michigan?s most popular fishing spots.

"I firmly believe that by working together, we can preserve and protect Michigan's natural treasures for generations to come,? said Scott Bowen, Director of the Michigan DNR. "This work isn't just a job; it's a responsibility we owe to our children and grandchildren. Every action we take today shapes the future of our environment, the outdoor-based recreation Michigan is known for, and the places we love."

The Michigan DNR manages 4.6 million acres of state land, including forests, parks, wetlands, lakes and rivers, making it the largest state-managed public land holding in the lower 48 states. The DNR?s efforts include habitat restoration at some of the state?s most popular fishing destinations. The money generated from this partnership will contribute to vital work that will benefit Michigan?s waters and Michigan?s anglers, focusing on battling invasive species, fostering the growth of fish populations and ensuring sustainable fishing for future generations.

"We are thrilled to embark on this collaborative journey with Saugatuck Brewing Company," said Patrick Mohney, senior lands program manager for the DNR. "Together, we have an incredible opportunity to raise awareness, inspire action, and make a tangible difference in the restoration of Michigan's natural heritage."

?We are beyond excited about joining the DNR in finding new ways to help solve old problems,? added Saugatuck Brewing Company CEO John Miller. ?As a ?lifestyle brand? focusing attention and resources to help participate in projects like this is at the center of our values and a perfect fit for the brand Rainbow Rodeo to lead.?

SBC's Rainbow Rodeo IPA shines light on Michigan's reputation as a fly-fishing mecca, and celebrates its tens of thousands of cold, quality trout streams and hundreds of trout lakes. The Brewmaster's focus for Rainbow Rodeo IPA was to create a classic, easy-drinking, American IPA at 7%.

"Beer brings people together, and we need a little more of that to help rebuild and continue celebrating our beautiful backyard that is Michigan," says Sara VanSplinter, Director of Marketing for Saugatuck Brewing Company. "There is a lot of work to be done to protect what we love, and it ain't no disco. It's a restoration rodeo."

?As a private company that is passionate about conservation and outdoor activities this type of leadership is something our consumers can and should expect from us,? added Miller. ?We look forward to taking this beyond our pubs so retailers and consumers from all corners of the state can join us in helping enhance one of Michigan?s greatest assets, our environment.?

In addition to the commitment from SBC and its retailers and distributors, the public is welcome to make their own contributions [ [link removed] ] to the effort. (Donations will be accepted through Sept. 30.)
