Sara Carpenter joined the New York Police Department in 2000.
When terrorists murdered innocent people in the Twin Towers on September 11th, she responded … and she paid a heavy price:
“Her mental health deteriorated after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, when she was among the officers who responded to the World Trade Center site, the filing says. She was eventually deemed unable to work because of serious depression and was approved for retirement on disability, the filing says. She retired as an officer in 2004, the Police Department said.” (New York Times, Dec. 19, 2023)
Years later, Sara was one of many patriots who protested the stolen 2020 Presidential election at the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
Like thousands of others, Sara peacefully entered the Capitol.
Because she was a retired police officer, Sara knew U.S. Capitol Police weren’t following their protocols that day. So she questioned them about it. And she played a tambourine.
And when she was arrested, Sara was thrown to the wolves by U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg.
Judge Boasberg forced Sara to go to trial without key evidence that might have cleared her of her alleged crimes.
Sara asked for a 60 day delay in her trial, so her lawyer and she could review the video footage GOP Speaker McCarthy released to Tucker Carlson.
The federal prosecutors admitted there was missing footage of Sara inside the Capitol building.
Even Judge Boasberg said it was a reasonable request. But he refused to allow Sarah to see it, because:
“Boasberg worried that widely permitting Jan. 6 defendants to slow down their criminal proceedings in order to review this footage could “derail dozens of trials that are set in the next few months.” (quote courtesy of Politico.com)
Sarah’s lawyers asked for two years probation.
Federal prosecutors asked for a five and a half year prison sentence … and got 22 months!
Can you believe that?
Sara had a legal right to see ALL evidence that could clear her of guilt, but she was stampeded into trial and sentenced anyway!
The clock is now ticking for Sara.
As you know, prison is a dangerous place, especially for police officers.
I hope and pray Sara and all other January 6 peaceful protesters survive their time behind bars.
Joe Biden’s FBI and DOJ are targeting even more innocent Americans as you read this email.
