Dear Supporter,
West Virginia’s early voting begins on May 1. With two challengers for the Agriculture Commissioner’s office, this will be an especially important primary election for us. Many races will be decided on Tuesday, May 14th. Voter turnout will be particularly important for many good candidates.
The statistics are clear. My team and I have reduced regulations, increased Agriculture growth, and encouraged more young farmers than at any time in the past. All of this was accomplished with a budget much the same as 2008. We have demonstrated good prudent fiscal government decisions. We have consistently contributed to our state's record budget surpluses.
I believe my team in the Agriculture Department, and I are in a good position to win re-election. The fact that I am in a 3-way primary race may increase the chance that something could go wrong. I would rather not take that chance, so I continue crisscrossing the state, whenever I am not performing duties that you have twice elected me to do. It could make a significant difference!
My volunteers and I are preparing to face the unknown if it appears and we are getting ready for the General election in November. I am hoping you will agree with my strategy and contribute to my re-election.
