John – I'm about to ask you to contribute $5 to my must-win campaign before our end-of-month deadline – but first, there are a few things you should know:

I'm running for re-election in the most competitive congressional district in South Carolina. Republicans will flood the race with millions of dollars in outside spending because they know that if they want to keep the House majority, they have to ensure SC-01 stays red.
Our primary election is right around the corner. The resources we have in the bank by the end of this week will determine how many voters we can reach before early voting begins.
I'm not on track to reach my monthly goal. What we raise now will set the tone for the rest of our race. And in order to fund our voter outreach budget, we must hit this goal.
