“Evil.”
That is the word, friend, that my opponent, Joe McGraw, used to describe Democrats this past week at a town hall he hosted.
The town hall was supposed to cover issues of public safety, but instead, McGraw went on long tirades on everything from LGBTQ+ individuals serving in the military to libraries being dangerous, “unsafe” places because they won’t ban certain books.
To be honest, I wish I hadn’t had to read the transcript – he spread so many crazy claims it made my head spin. I’m still a little dizzy, but I’m also angry. I’m angry about his hateful tirades, and I’m angry that someone who wants to represent our community thinks it's okay to call half of our community “evil.”
If you’re as angry as I am and ready to win this race and stop hatred in its tracks, consider donating any amount today. Only this grassroots team can make sure we aren't outspent in this swing district.
Look, I have disagreements with my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, but I came to Washington to make Congress work for my constituents, look out for my neighbors, and bring home more affordable healthcare, safer neighborhoods, and good-paying, sustainable jobs.
I did NOT come to label those who disagree with me evil. Words like that do nothing but split our communities apart when we need leaders right now who will bring us closer together.
Central and Northwestern Illinois deserve better, and I hope my opponent decides to spend less time ranting and more time listening to our neighbors and hearing the issues they’re facing. That’s the job of a good representative and a good neighbor.
Donate $10 to make clear to Joe McGraw that we stand together to represent us, not to drive division and hate.
Friend, I hope I can continue to count on your support.
