Please contact your MP asking them to attend
Dear
SPUC supporter,
The assisted suicide lobby have been upping the ante in the last few months. Celebrities such as Dame Esther Rantzen have been adding their voices to calls to legalise state-sanctioned killing.
Dame Esther ran a petition in conjunction with Dignity in Dying, heavily promoted by the Express newspaper. This petition gained enough signatures for it to be debated by MPs in Parliament.
The debate will take place on 29^th April, in Westminster Hall. Westminster Hall debates cannot change the law, but are a chance to air an issue. If the debate does well for the pro-death lobby, they will use that to push for a substantive vote.
That is why it is important for MPs who oppose or have concerns about so called assisted dying to make their voices heard in this debate. And concerns are growing. As more and more horrific stories come from Canada and other jurisdictions that have legalised assisted suicide or euthanasia, the more public opinion is being shifted away from it.
Please contact your MP, asking them to attend the Westminster Hall debate on 29^th April and speak out against assisted suicide. Our online web-tool makes it easy for you to email your MP. Simply input your postcode to bring up who your MP is, edit the template letter, and press send.

The template contains some arguments against assisted suicide, and gives you a basis to work from. Please edit this template to make your own letter – MPs are far more interested in the views of their constituents than arguments from campaign groups! Please share any personal experience of the issues that you have.
Thank you for campaigning with us to protect the vulnerable.
