"Trump could have reopened enrollment for the Affordable Care Act for coronavirus. He chose not to."
-- Vox, April 1, 2020

John,

Democrats are calling on President Trump to reopen enrollment under the Affordable Care Act. This is so that people without health insurance can enroll in coverage during this global pandemic.

Washington state's health care exchange is open to anyone without insurance until May 8. But President Trump has rejected efforts this week to reopen enrollment in other states at a time when millions of Americans recently lost their jobs due to COVID-19.

Worse, President Trump continues his ideological effort to strike down the Affordable Care Act in court. If he succeeds, millions of Americans could lose their health insurance. We should put ideology aside during this crisis and make sure everyone has affordable health insurance.

Access to affordable health care is a right, not a privilege. And this pandemic will continue to disproportionately impact the most vulnerable among us unless the administration does what's necessary and expand access to health care. Join me in calling on the administration to expand access to health care right now, so everyone can get the help they need.

As a nation and for the safety and health of all, we need to ensure every person impacted by COVID-19 gets the care they need. Insurance companies and Congress alike are calling on the administration to expand access to affordable care. Sign the petition now to demand Trump take immediate action.
