I want to start this email off with a thank you. I’m so grateful for each of you who cast your primary ballot this past Tuesday, and for those who showed up in other ways – by volunteering or donating – to support this campaign.

Now, with the primary election behind us and the general election officially underway, I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself and share why I'm asking for your support once again (but if you're already on board with my re-election campaign, you can chip in here >> [link removed]).

I'm Matt Cartwright, your Democratic congressman running for re-election here in PA-08. I’m proud to live in northeastern Pennsylvania – it’s where I made my career and it’s where I raised my family. I ran for office because I wanted to make a difference in my community and across the country. Since taking office in 2013, I've been tirelessly working to prioritize the needs of everyday northeastern Pennsylvanians.

The Center for Effective Lawmaking labeled me as one of the most effective members of the U.S. House because I've been focused on advancing real solutions to the biggest issues our nation faces.

One thing I'm particularly proud of is my record of bipartisan cooperation. Since taking office, I've introduced more legislation supported by both Democrats and Republicans than any other House Democrat. This includes legislation that helps seniors, military families, veterans, students, workers, consumers, the middle class, and the environment.

But the fight is far from over. As one of five Democrats who won a House seat in a district Donald Trump carried in 2020, I'm facing another tough battle. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has named my seat a top target, and my opponent has already funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars of his own money into his campaign.

Now, election experts are already calling our race a "toss-up." If we're going to retake the House majority, we need to keep Pennsylvania's 8th District blue. But I can't do it without your support.

I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported me in the primary, and I look forward to working with you to build the grassroots campaign we need to hold PA-08. Will you chip in to help us prepare for the general election, fight back against the flood of outside money, and hold PA-08?
