Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up safe and nurtured. One of our missions at Catholic Charities is to provide the support that vulnerable children and their families need to thrive. I wanted to share the story of Elizabeth and her son Seth who went from crisis to stability with the help of a local Catholic Charities agency.

Elizabeth's life changed drastically when her son, Seth, who has Down's Syndrome, began to require more care, eventually leading her to lose her job, and later their home. At their lowest point, while living behind a Walmart, they were approached by a Catholic Charities staff member who offered them assistance. Thanks to their help, Elizabeth was provided with support obtaining employment, assistance with childcare for Seth, and access to stable housing. Their lives are no longer defined by moving from crisis to crisis and now have a safe, secure future.
