John,
Today, I am writing to let you know that we came up short in Tuesday's Democratic Primary. As I consider what comes next, I wanted to say thank you to all of my loyal supporters, like you. So many have been with me since we started this journey in 2022, and I am filled with gratitude for your dedication to our cause to not just protect our Democracy, but to send qualified Representatives to Congress who will fight for our Democratic values.
I also want to thank my campaign team and volunteers who have stood by me on this journey. Together, we all fought the good fight, and we fought hard.
I am proud of the campaign we ran. It was long, hard-fought and consistent with our values. I ask you to continue to hold on to and fight for our shared values wherever you are. Continuing that fight, even when others believed there was no value in it, is what brought PA-10 back into the national spotlight in 2024. Because of the work we all did together, PA-10 is a top target this year, and the Democratic nominee will have the resources to defeat insurrection leader Scot Perry in November. We made a real difference, and that is something of which we can all be proud.
With the Primary behind us, the real work begins, not just in PA-10, but across our Commonwealth, and our country. The task ahead is a daunting one, despite all PA 10 Democratic candidates collectively spending over 1.5 million dollars campaigning during the primary, almost 20k fewer Democratic voters turned out yesterday than turned out in the 2020 primary. Likewise, the key swing state of Pennsylvania saw overall turnout of just 25% on Tuesday. That is well short of the Democratic enthusiasm we need to defeat the MAGA agenda. The work for a successful November begins today, and I will be a part of that fight in some capacity, you can count on that.
We ran hard throughout this primary, and especially in the last few weeks. In our efforts to run through the tape up until 8PM on Tuesday, we acquired some campaign debt that we are working to retire. If you could help out with a donation one more time, it would help us to retire that debt and wrap-up the campaign so we can all turn our attention to the 2024 General Election, which is likely to be one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime.
