Chair's Report:
This month, I am especially proud of the work of our elected representatives in all levels of government to advance our Democratic values in ongoing budget talks. The proposed county budget invests in new positions in affordable housing, for our community services board, and relating to our Diversion First programs. Our legislators in Richmond are fighting the good fight against Governor Youngkin's refusal of important spending on public schools, paid family and medical leave, and lowering medicine costs. And, this past weekend, our congressional delegation voted to send much-needed aid to Ukraine.
FCDC is carefully planning our operations for this coming election, and our hardworking members and volunteers are expanding our presence here in Fairfax at festivals, farmers markets, and community events around the county. We are prepared to provide vital volunteer support to re-elect Tim Kaine and defend our Democratic congressional seats here in Fairfax County, the turnout-engine of the Commonwealth. The Biden-Harris campaign has likewise signaled their strong interest in keeping Virginia BLUE this November with the announcement of campaign veterans Jake Rubenstein as statewide campaign manager and Ethan Damon as Northern Virginia political director. Together with the expanding Biden-Harris campaign operation and our dedicated leaders, organizers, and volunteers in the Fairfax Democrats, we are strongly-positioned to do our part to take back the House, hold the Senate, and re-elect President Biden and Vice President Harris in 2024!
Voter Registration at Mason District Earth Day: The Voter Registration & Education Committee will have a table at the ACCA Child Development Center [[link removed]] in Annandale this Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. I'm sure they would love some help.
