Aloha Members of the Hawaii Republican Party,
We are coming up to our 2024 State Convention, scheduled for May 4th and 5th at Mililani High School. As we get closer to this major event, there are a few updates and reminders I need to share with you, along with an important notice regarding a recent issue. (Note: additional updates can also be found on our website, on the convention page: here)
Delegate and Alternate Appointments: Today marks the final day for submitting delegate and alternate appointments. Please ensure all entries are submitted by 11:59p.m. April 24, 2024. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept submissions after this deadline. Also, in order to participate, you must have become a member at least 10 days prior.
Delegates must be appointed in the following manner:
- Appointed by their precinct president and submitted on a signed form.
- In the absence of a precinct president, the district chair may appoint.
- If there is no district chair, then the county chair is authorized to appoint.
Unauthorized Group Alert: It has come to our attention that a group of individuals has been incorrectly leading citizens to believe that they represent the Hawaii Republican Party, promoting themselves under the name "The Republican Party of Hawaii." Please be advised that this group has no affiliation with nor endorsement from the Hawaii Republican Party. We are currently investigating the details surrounding their activities. It is unfortunate that we continue to face these types of circumstances, which only serve to confuse our voters and contribute to chaos within our party.
Convention Attendance and Voting: For those who have purchased tickets through Zeffy and have not been recognized or appointed as a delegate or alternate, you will be listed as a Guest. Guests are welcome to attend the convention on both days, and you will receive a guest badge upon arrival. Please note that seating for Alternates and Guests will be designated separately from Delegates. It is important to remember that only officially recognized delegates will be permitted to vote and participate in discussions during the convention. All attendees who intend to vote must purchase a ticket online for themselves, as pertinent information is needed to complete the process and vet the submitted information with each county. If you have mailed a check, please bring a copy of the check to the convention to address any potential issues at registration. Again, even if paying by check, please confirm with your Precinct, district, and/or County officials that you are a delegate or Alternate to avoid any issues at the time of check in at the convention. We will be meeting to confirm the day we end ticket sales to the convention. As a reminder tonight is the last day that you can become a delegate or Alternate. NO exceptions after 11:59p.m. April 24, 2024.
Convention Meals: Please be advised that tickets for the convention breakfasts will be available for purchase only until April 30th. We are pleased to announce that Representative Gene Ward will join us for breakfast on Saturday, May 4th, 7:30-9a.m., Representative Lauren Matsamoto will be stopping by to share some words of encouragement on Saturday as well. Representative Elijia Pierick and Representative David Alcos, will be with us on Sunday, May 5th, 7:30-9a.m. Candidates for National Committeeman and Committeewoman are also invited to attend these breakfasts. You can purchase your breakfast tickets (here) or (here).
Volunteer Efforts and Logistics: Our dedicated volunteers are working diligently to finalize all plans for a smooth and successful convention. We anticipate a wonderful gathering of minds and look forward to welcoming each of you. Should any issues arise, we ask for your patience and support. Our unity and cooperative spirit will be crucial in addressing any challenges, although we are optimistic that the event will proceed smoothly.
Additional Information: On Sunday, May 5th, please be aware that there will be a farmers market taking place concurrently with our convention activities. This may affect parking availability, so plan accordingly. We will also have a lunch break at approximately 11a.m., and you are encouraged to explore the food offerings from local food trucks available at the farmers market.
We are enthusiastic about the opportunity to come together as a party, discuss our goals, and prepare for future successes. Your participation and engagement are key to our continued growth and impact. Thank you for your commitment to our party and the principles we stand for.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the Convention
