Dear John

This Monday April 29th at 6pm, its time for a meeting! We are calling all Poor People's Campaigh activists, partners, faith leaders and poor and low-wage workers to join us for an important in-person meeting in Washington D.C. with Campaign Co-Chair Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II, as we make preparations for our next Mass Poor People's and Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls on June 29th, 2024 in Washington DC and online.

When poverty is the 4th leading cause of death in the United States and systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, the denial of healthcare, militarism and the false narrative of religious nationalism—interlocking injustices that continue to hurt more than 30 percent of the electorate—-- we know its time to call the nation to a meeting.

The narrative that poor and low-wage people are apathetic about politics or don’t care enough to vote is just another one of these myths. In actuality, there is great, untapped power among these tens of millions of people, who often don’t see their demands– such as housing, healthcare, and living wages– reflected by those seeking election. We are waking the Sleeping Giant of poor and low-wage infrequent voters across this country!

The support of our base and partner organizations across Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland will be critical to mobilizing tens of thousands on June 29th and to the polls. Join us on April 29th at 6pm to learn about next steps in mobilizing for the Moral March on Washington and to the Polls!

Monday will also mark the media launch of our push towards June 29th. We invite you to join us in-person or online for a National Press Conference Launching the June 29th Mobilization live from the National Press Club in Washington D.C with Campaign Co-Chairs Rev Dr William J. Barber II and Rev Dr Liz Theoharis and anchor organizations. Space is limited, please RSVP to join us!

Forward Together, Not One Step Back!
