Fuel our fight to stop dangerous gun bills that puts our students at risk

Unsurprisingly, the way to save students from being shot and killed in schools is NOT more guns in school.

Gun lobby-backed state legislators across the country are feverishly pushing dangerous legislation to arm teachers and school staff, adding more guns into our schools.

After the tragic school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2018, former President Trump suggested arming teachers as a solution to increase school safety. We're seeing the effects of that dangerous proposal play out in real-time today.

Enough is enough. In this critical moment, we need your support to help build an unstoppable movement to end gun violence in America, stop bad bills in their tracks, and fight for stronger gun laws in the most effective way possible.

Look, these are just some of the bad bills making moves throughout legislatures across the country:

  • Last week, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed a bill allowing school employees to bring guns onto school property-just months after the mass school shooting at Perry High School.
  • Just yesterday, Tennessee House lawmakers passed a similar bill that would put students at risk, a little over one year after the mass shooting at Covenant School in Nashville, where a former student killed three nine-year-old students and three staff members-the deadliest mass shooting in Tennessee history.
  • But that's not all: Louisiana, Georgia, Utah, Wyoming, Alaska, Idaho, South Dakota, Missouri, Nebraska, and West Virginia are all considering bills that would effectively put more guns in classrooms.

This truly is an all-hands-on-deck moment for gun safety. If we're going to keep up the fight to put an end to gun violence, then we can't afford to backdown-not now, not ever.
