John,
The onslaught of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation sweeping through state legislatures is nothing short of a crisis.
2023 has already seen over 400 bills introduced targeting the rights of queer and transgender individuals, particularly youth -- shattering the previous record set just last year. Let's be clear, this is a coordinated assault aimed at dehumanizing and erasing LGBTQ+ people. It cannot be allowed to succeed.
While a patchwork of protections exists, the harsh reality is that LGBTQ+ people remain extremely vulnerable to discrimination in vital areas of life. Only the Equality Act can remedy this injustice by finally enshrining comprehensive protections into federal law.
There can be no compromise when equality and basic human dignity are on the line. Tell Congress to act with urgency to pass this landmark civil rights legislation.
We must mobilize a historic effort to finally ban legalized discrimination against LGBTQ+ Americans once and for all. In the face of unrelenting attacks on our rights and our very humanity, we are united, we are powerful, and we will prevail.
LGBTQ+ people exist, they are our family members, our neighbors, and our co-workers. And we must all refuse for them to be treated as second-class citizens any longer. It's far past time for fairness and equal protection to be the law of the land.
Now that the Equality Act is supported by a clear majority of Americans, hundreds of leading corporations and organizations, and key civil rights leaders it’s time to push Congress to act.
Join us in sending an unmistakable message to Congress -- we will accept nothing less than full equality.
Let’s keep fighting for equal rights.
