John,
Today, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments assessing the legality of access to abortion in life-threatening medical emergencies.
This latest court case is an attempt to override the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act, which requires emergency rooms to provide life-saving treatment, including access to abortions in health emergencies.
Women across the country are experiencing heartbreaking, life-threatening circumstances as they’re denied the healthcare they need. This is a reality we can’t accept.
Personal healthcare decisions should be made by a woman and her doctor, not by politicians. I was proud to cast the first pro-choice vote in West Michigan history. My work does not stop here. I am committed to advocating for the equal rights of West Michiganders and continuing to fight for reproductive freedom.
Republicans are telling us they’ll continue chipping away at rights to access, travel, and anything that intersects with our reproductive freedom. We should believe them. And then we should deny them that opportunity.
Republicans are coming for our district and doing everything they can to clinch and expand their narrow majority. I hope you’ll continue supporting my campaign as I work to protect reproductive rights in Congress.
Please, I’m asking–as a woman and a mother myself–please help support the work I’m doing to ensure women and girls are protected for generations to come. I can’t do this without you.
Grateful,
Hillary
