Dear John,
ELECTION UPDATE: April 6, 2020, 3:15 p.m.
Today, Gov. Tony Evers made the right call for the health and safety of Wisconsinites by issuing an executive order delaying tomorrow’s Spring Election and Presidential Primary until June 9.
Every voter, no matter political stance, must be able to exercise their most fundamental Constitutional right safely and without fear.
Here’s what this means for you, as voters: we encourage you to continue to prioritize getting your absentee ballot in as soon as possible.
Here’s why: the executive order is already being challenged by legislative leadership, including Speaker Robin Vos and Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald. There are also elements moving through the court system, including a decision pending from the U.S. Supreme Court regarding absentee voting.
Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing, at the moment, what precisely will happen in both the courts and the legislature. That’s why we are staying the course and asking that anyone who has opted to vote absentee return their ballots immediately. In addition to mailing them in, many communities have set up secure drop boxes for ballots. Check your community here. [[link removed]]
We will keep you updated here [[link removed]] and on social media as things change.
Please stay safe, and thank you for being a conservation voter,
