Hi,

A bipartisan tax package that would expand the Child Tax Credit (CTC) is currently waiting on a vote from the Senate. This bill would go a long way toward alleviating child poverty. But some Senators are hellbent on blocking the bill.

Why don’t they want this tax package to go through? Too many lawmakers prioritize corporate handouts and ultra-wealthy campaign donors over the needs of working Americans. Too many lawmakers are prioritizing politics over the well-being of children and families.

Sign the petition: Tell the Senate to expand the Child Tax Credit and reject attacks on low-income families.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Child Tax Credit was expanded to provide relief to more families. The results were nothing short of amazing: it reduced food insufficiency by 11% and lifted 3 million children out of poverty. The benefits especially helped Black and Latino households.1

Despite these incredible figures, some Senators refuse to expand the CTC. It’s why we’re holding them accountable.

Add your name: Tell the Senate to pass the bipartisan tax package and expand the Child Tax Credit!

Thanks for taking action,

Joey and the team at Demand Progress
