Happy National Volunteer Week! This week recognizes the profound impact of volunteer service and the remarkable ability of volunteers to advance social justice and empower under-served and marginalized communities. Since 2017, We The Action volunteers have donated almost 300,000 hours of legal services to build a more democratic and equitable world. We are not slowing down now.

We currently have over 80 projects that could use your help. Check out some of these projects below:

501(c)(3) Incorporation for Restorative Justice Organization

Restorative Jeff Co

Restorative Jeff Co works to provide restorative options with their community that address harm and violence through non-punitive accountability, promote healing and repair, and prevent future harm. They have been working under a fiscal sponsor but need to become their own nonprofit and they need a lawyer to help. This is a emote project, and lawyers may be barred in any state.

Conflict of Interest Policy for Epilepsy Organization

Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium

The Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium is a newly formed 501c 3 nonprofit organization (10/23) and they are in the process of creating a sustainable and strong infrastructure. They need a lawyer to help merge the two conflict of interest policies they have drafted to be used by the entire organization. This is a remote project, and lawyers may be barred in any state.

Review Data User Agreement for Rare Disease Org

PCD Foundation

The PCD Foundation is a health organization focused on accelerating research in primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD). They use a DUA template, but the Universities frequently send back redlined versions. and need a lawyer to review them. This is a remote project, and lawyers may be barred in any state.

Provide Legal Counsel for Survivors

National Women's Law Center

The Legal Network for Gender Equity, which combats sex harassment and other sex discrimination, needs lawyers to speak to survivors about their experiences and give them a trauma-informed consultation about their options. Employment law and litigation experience required. This is a remote project, and lawyers may be barred in any state.
