John,
MCSO deputies, first responders, and detention staff are serving on the front lines of our government’s COVID-19 response, working to keep our community healthy, share verified information to mitigate the spread of the virus, and maintain public safety at all times.
Many of our employees don’t have the option of staying home -- but we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to support these hardworking officers and their families throughout this emergency. That’s why we created an “Employee Pantry” where each MCSO employee can donate items that fellow employees need.
With critical items in low supply, our Employee Pantry will help provide essentials like diapers, baby formula, soap, toilet paper, rice, pasta, and beans. Unused items will be donated to local nonprofit organizations.
I want to express sincere gratitude to the many organizations and community members that have stepped up in this time of need. We must rise to the challenge and band together to overcome this crisis, and I firmly believe our ability to overcome will be dependent on our commitment to our co-workers and our local communities.
We will continue to keep you updated as the situation changes, and in the meantime, you can always visit the CDC’s website for more information. If you have further questions or believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, call the Arizona Department of Health Services at (844) 542-8201.
