It’s not really my place to say (yet) what the Washington Post’s Isaac Arnsdorf gets factually inaccurate in his book ‘Finish What We Started.’ I do, after all, have to save some of my anecdotes for my own tome on the matter.
Some day. Soon.
Suffice it to say there’s a lot that’s wildly wrong. Or perhaps, “misremembered.” Not that the average reader would realize it as they trudge through tap-along prose regarding local party meetings, or how the John McCain acolytes are the “real” conservatives amongst the MAGA interlopers.
Snooze.
Between Maggie Haberman [ [link removed] ] and Arnsdorf, I can see why most of my liberal media friends often tell me, “Trump books don’t sell anymore.”
Yeah, because they’re all shit. All told through the same sneering lens. All reliant on the same 4 or 5 sources in MAGA world. All trashing the 45th President, and in Arnsdorf’s case, throwing in some shade for Barry Goldwater and J6ers for good measure.
A regurgitated cocktail of hoaxes (the “quid pro quo” hoax, the “find the votes” hoax, the Enrique Tarrio hoax, etc) topped off with a light dusting of selective quotes (he makes it sound like Trump ordered marchers into the Capitol – leaves out the whole “peacefully" thing).
Gross. 4/10.
