The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act is being misused to expand access of assisted suicide via telehealth. Approving assisted suicide by telehealth means that a doctor could prescribe a lethal drug cocktail without examining the patient to confirm the medical diagnosis. Dear John,
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was a 335 pages long bill that was promoted by Democrats and Republicans in both the House of Representatives and Senate as a so-called unity measure for our workforce and economy during the government-mandated shutdown. But, I’m starting to question if our elected officials read the entire thing before voting. While they were quick to promote economic stimulus for Americans, they failed to realize that the left would quickly use it to promote their agenda. Upon the passage of the CARES Act, the assisted suicide lobby thanked Congressional leaders for expanding access to telehealth during the Coronavirus crisis to also permit assisted suicide. Approving assisted suicide by telehealth means that a doctor could prescribe a lethal drug cocktail without examining the patient to confirm the medical diagnosis.
Euthanasia Prevention Coalition created a petition on our platform, and we are joining their call to action to ask Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar to modify healthcare regulations and terminology to prevent this.
The assisted suicide lobby has been pushing for the approval of assisted suicide by telehealth for several years. We understand the need to expand telehealth services during the Coronavirus crisis, but assisted suicide is not a medical treatment, and it is not a form of healthcare. Medical misdiagnosis is a crucial issue. Data indicates that 12 million Americans are affected by medical misdiagnosis each year and 40,000 to 80,000 Americans die annually from medical misdiagnosis. Healthcare regulation and terminology must not permit approving or prescribing assisted suicide by telehealth.
Add your name: Secretary Azar needs to hear from you! Urge him to firmly prevent assisted suicide via telehealth.
Can I ask you a question? Do you think a bill promoting the use of telehealth for assisted suicide would pass the two chambers of U.S. Congress and be signed into law by President Trump on its own merit? It would not! This is another example of the left trying to further their agenda while the focus of our political leaders is elsewhere. We are asking you to take a stand with us.
Sign the petition to HHS Secretary Azar to protect the vulnerable against assisted suicide. Thank you, Gregory Mertz and the entire CitizenGO Team P.S. We will continue to remain vigilant and launch campaigns to denounce Leftist politicians and lobbyists that are using this crisis to promote their radical agenda. Thank you for helping us to prevent them from sneaking their harmful policies by under the guise of aid.
