We've made some progress in the past few weeks, sort of. Because
folks like you across the country made their voices heard loud and
clear, 16 Republican senators have agreed to meet with Chief Judge
Merrick Garland and discuss his nomination to the Supreme Court.
That's better, of course, than an outright refusal to do their jobs, like
we've heard so far from the likes of Mitch McConnell and Chuck
Grassley, but it's still only doing the bare minimum of what we
should expect from our lawmakers.

So we still have a long way to go before Chief Judge Garland
becomes Justice Garland, and it's going to take each and every
one of us to get there. Now, I say that a lot -- and I always mean it,
I promise. But this time is a little different. Samuel, instead of asking you
to add your name or pitch in with a contribution, we're asking you to
do two easy things:

1. Pick up the phone and call Majority Leader Mitch McConnell at 202-224-2541.
Tell him you want Chief Judge Garland to get a fair confirmation hearing,
the sooner the better.
2. Click below as soon as you've hung up the phone, and let us
know how it went! We want to hear what they had to say so we can
hold Republicans accountable to do their jobs and make sure they
know there are consequences for not acting in the best interests of
constituents like you:
