I have some important personal news to share with you: after 15 years of
building the organization, and 13 years as its Executive Director, I have
decided that it is time for me to move on and pass the torch to the next
climate leader who will guide our movement into this decisive decade for
the climate crisis.

As a
strong supporter of our climate movement, it is important
to me that you receive this news first, and with as much nuance as
possible.

Before I explain any more, I want to first thank all of you who donated
to our 48-hour Earth Day campaign. Your contributions have
put 350.org in a strong position to target some of the world's biggest
emitters and policymakers.

Together, our climate movement
raised $77,074 in matched contributions — $154,148 in total — for the
climate. It's nothing short of extraordinary.

My decision to move on is one that I've thought long and hard about, and
it's clear to me on so many levels that now is the right time — for me,
and for 350.

Now that we have successfully completed our pivot to a new strategy
pushing for 100 percent renewable energy as an organization and network
full of brilliant leaders, I feel ready to pass the reins to the next
climate leader who will guide our movement into the future.

After 15 years, my overwhelming feeling is one of joy and possibility for
what lies ahead for 350 and for me. It has been a wonderful journey and a
tremendous opportunity to build this organization from our first day of
action in 2008 to the global powerhouse we are today.

Yes, this change is very big for me and for us, but we're better equipped
for this than we've ever been.

I believe wholeheartedly that we can achieve cleaner energy, cleaner air,
cleaner water, and that we can defeat the fossil fuel industry and push
for 100 percent renewables around the globe.

Lastly, I am not going to be leaving at short notice! I will be in my
position as Executive Director until the end of September.

So for now, keep doing what you do, and know that I am so incredibly
grateful for you all and what we do.
