Look for corrective-statement signs at stores that sell cigarettes. If you don't see them, report it at TobaccoSignTipline.com.
John,
As of last year, the major U.S. tobacco companies are required by a federal court to post "corrective statements" at over 200,000 stores across the country. These eye-catching signs tell the public the truth about the deadly consequences of smoking.
The Tobacco-Free Kids Action Fund – along with our partners and the U.S. Department of Justice – fought the tobacco industry in court for 16 years to make this happen. And it's a huge victory for public health.
But there's a problem.
A recent report found that the signs are not displayed in at least 16% of the stores that are supposed to have them!
With support from advocates like you, we'll continue to expose Big Tobacco’s lies and wrongdoing. And we’ll keep fighting to protect kids and save lives.
Thanks for standing with us,
