John, today is a good day.

After months of effort — member fly-ins to the Capitol, lobbying, grassroots pressure, press conferences with Democratic leadership and Veterans, targeted ad buys from coast to coast, and many, many emails — the Senate just passed the bipartisan National Security package that will fund Ukraine in their fight against Russia.

This was no easy task. It took far, far too long. But Ukraine’s warriors will get what they need to defend their land against Putin.

To those of you who have been involved throughout this process — whether you chipped in your hard-earned money to help cover the hundreds of thousands we spent on advertisements and media, wrote or called your Senators or members of Congress, signed petitions, or just followed along — this is your victory.

Thanks to you, the light of democracy will not go out in Ukraine. Lives will be saved. Further conflict will be prevented. Putin can be defeated.

We’re grateful for you, and for the leadership of the Democratic Party and VoteVets members over the last several months as they guided this deal to passage. From the House, to the Senate, to the White House.

So today, we’re asking you to let them know that we appreciate their work.
