Justice for Theia, the Wyoming Wolf
Special Guests Will Provide New Angles on Wyoming Wolf Scandal
Millions of people are weighing in on the scandalous treatment of Theia in Wyoming. Tomorrow night, we’ll add two new voices to the national debate.
The killing of a young adolescent female wolf in Wyoming has shocked people across the world—both for its sheer barbarism and for the stunning absence of state prohibitions on unconscionable practices, such as running over wildlife with snowmobiles.
That’s why we have scheduled this urgent webinar—so we can tell you about how we’re working to ensure Cody Roberts faces criminal charges and to put laws and regulations in place to protect animals like Theia.
Wayne Pacelle, president of Animal Wellness Action and the Center for a Humane Economy, was already scheduled to speak. He has fought for three decades on the state and federal levels to protect U.S. wolves and worked to protect wolves from exploitation in the Upper Great Lakes region. Now, two nationally acclaimed speakers have been added.
- Dr. Susan Kane-Ronning is a licensed psychologist in Bellingham, Wash., who specializes in child behavior disorders. She has conducted hundreds of evaluations on children, documenting the link between animal cruelty and subsequent acts of human violence. She will speak about how such acts of cruelty to animals are unmistakable indicators of a menacing presence in our human communities.
- Rolf Peterson, research professor at Michigan Technological University (MTU), is the dean of American wolf biologists, having played a central role in the Wolf-Moose Project at Isle Royale National Park in northern Michigan since 1970. He has also conducted wolf-prey research in Alaska, Minnesota, and Wyoming, with strong support from his graduate students. With150 peer-reviewed papers about wolves and their prey to back him up, he’ll speak about the ecological and economic services wolves provide in Wyoming and in other parts of their native range.
Please register now. You will have the opportunity to ask questions of all three panelists, and you will leave with concrete steps you can take to protect wolves in North America.
