Are you hitting 10,000 steps every day?

That’s a walk in the park for Ethan, a Special Olympics athlete and certified track STAR. According to Kate, his mom, Ethan can easily wrack up over 40,000 steps a day – that’s about 20 miles – just because he loves to move!

Today, we’re launching our ☀️Spring Training Fund ☀️ to help more athletes with intellectual disabilities (ID), like Ethan, get off the sidelines and thrive this spring!

Will you pitch in to the Spring Training Fund before the Friday deadline? It only takes $60 to train an athlete for an entire year – and set them up for a future of opportunities and connection! Give now >>

For Ethan, running started off as solitary exercise in his backyard. Running is one way he processes information, scripts out his day, and tackles challenges that are familiar for many athletes with ID. But Ethan could only go so far in his own backyard.

That’s why joining a Special Olympics track team was so transformative for him. Not only did he get to actively participate in a sport that he loves, but he also had the opportunity to learn from and make friends with other athletes like him. And it was icing on the cake when, in his first year on the team, Ethan won a GOLD medal for the one-mile race at a state track meet!

With the love and support of his family, teammates, and Special Olympics, Ethan had everything he needed to go for the gold. Now, in addition to his Special Olympics teams, he competes on his public school’s cross country team and loves every minute he spends flying down the track – and getting those steps in!

$60 is ALL it takes to train a Special Olympics athlete for an entire year. A year of training, competition, excitement, and lifelong memories. Will you help hit our 250 athlete Spring Training Fund goal?
