  # [#]Hi James,Did you see the message from our Campaign Manager, Kelie?

We expect extreme MAGA Republicans to support sexual abusers like Donald Trump, but it stings even more when it comes from someone who calls themselves a Democrat.

A few years ago, our primary opponent was the only person in the Oregon House to oppose a bill extending the statute of limitations in order for the survivors of sexual assault to file civil suits. Our primary opponent insisted on shortening the statute of limitations to five years — that’s less than the window for property trespass in Oregon.

Check out Kelie’s powerful message below:

Begin forwarded message:

Hi James,Everyone knows that the Republican establishment is about to nominate Trump for President, despite the fact he’s been found liable for sexual abuse. What many don’t know is the Democratic establishment is advocating for a congressional candidate who voted AGAINST extending protections for survivors of sexual assault!

Shocking, but true.

When the Oregon Legislature was voting on extending the statute of limitations to seven years to file civil suits against perpetrators of sexual assault, Jamie’s primary opponent cast the lone vote – Republican or Democrat – AGAINST extending the statute of limitations for survivors of sexual assault.

This important law was passionately supported by victims of sexual assault and received broad bipartisan support. Even conservative Republicans gave speeches in support of the bill. When it came time to vote, every Republican and every Democrat – except for one – voted for the bill.

That single “no” vote came from our primary opponent, who said it’s more important to “protect the accused.” This is not about innocence until proven guilty, it’s about having the time to begin the recovery process and still get your day in court to face your attacker.

James, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 9 men have experienced sexual violence.

We need to elect a leader who stands with survivors of sexual assault, and that choice is clearly Jamie McLeod-Skinner.

If someone makes excuses not to support survivors of sexual assault, how can we trust them to protect our reproductive healthcare rights?

Corporate special interests are dumping money into our opponent’s campaign because they know that this shocking vote would make her easy to defeat in the general election. If Democrats are serious about winning in November, we need your help to keep pace. We need a nominee Oregonians can trust – that’s Jamie. Can you chip in $ today?
