The hard-earned ban on toxic copper mining in the watershed of the Boundary Waters is under attack, and we need your help!

Hi John,

Rep. Stauber’s bill to reverse the protections we received last year for the Boundary Waters watershed is up for a vote on the floor of the full House of Representatives next week.
This bill, H.R. 3195, would kill the Public Land Order that the Biden administration issued last year banning toxic copper mining for 20 years on 225,504 acres of Superior National Forest land in the watershed of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Take action right now [[link removed]] to stop this handover of our cherished public lands to mining corporations. Our action form has a pre-written email to your Representative urging them to vote NO on this legislation. All you have to do is click. [[link removed]]
The potential consequences of this bill are dire, as it not only reverses the 20-year ban, but also forces the government to reissue canceled federal mining leases to companies like Antofagasta’s Twin Metals, renew mining prospecting permits and additional leases, and approve mine plans on an expedited timeline. We cannot afford to undo the years of dedicated efforts to protect this pristine wilderness.
