Friends –
Earlier this month, Colorado House Republicans attempted and failed to impeach me for calling Trump what he is: an oath-breaking insurrectionist. There is nothing political in me saying that. There are not two sides of the truth. There are not two sides to what we saw at the United States Capitol on January 6.
This impeachment attempt was the next step in their long line of conspiracy theories and political games. Let me be clear: these far-right tactics will not get in the way of me doing the job that Colorado voters elected me to do, which is to protect our Constitution and our democracy.
This sham impeachment proceeding was dismissed, and I am more committed than ever to continuing to fight for Coloradans to have their voices heard and their votes counted in our elections. I will continue this important work and remain focused on the values of my constituents.
While the far-right plays political theater, I’ll be working hard to strengthen our democracy and protect the will of the people.
