Congratulations STMA robotics team on a fantastic finish !! Dear Friends and Neighbors, Yesterday, the Democrat’s slim 34-33 majority was rocked with the news of freshman Democrat Senator Nicole Mitchell being arrested by the Detroit Lakes Police Department for suspected 1st Degree Burglary. While Sen. Mitchell is of course presumed innocent until proven guilty, these developments have some massive implications at the Capitol. If Sen. Mitchell’s current criminal dilemma leaves her unavailable to vote in St. Paul, the 2024 legislative session may be effectively over due to the Democrat majority not having the votes to move anymore bills. | While there was little detail available following her initial arrest, additional documents have been released today after she was formally charged with 1st degree burglary and scheduled to appear in court. The statement of probable cause includes details of the arrest. After the victim called the police at 4:45am reporting an intruder in the home, Sen. Mitchell was found in the victim’s basement with a broken window she likely used to make entry and a flashlight with a black sock over it to control the light transmission. Sen. Mitchell seemingly confessed to breaking the law, stating to law enforcement “I know I did something bad” and “clearly I’m not good at this.” Sen. Mitchell was found to be in possession of the victims laptop, but claimed that she was looking for some possessions that belonged to her deceased father after the victim stopped communicating with her. | Needless to say, if guilty, Sen. Mitchell has no business serving in the Legislature, and causes one to wonder if her votes to disarm law abiding citizens and to allow felons to vote is motivated by sympathy she has for criminals. | Democrat Sen. Nichole Mitchell has been charged with 1st Degree Burglary for allegedly attempting to steal ashes (and more) from her stepmother, a widow who recently lost her husband after a 40-year marriage. Tomorrow, the Legislature is scheduled to resume business following the Passover break with an ironic coincidence of the Senate’s Permanent Rules, which are largely being discussed for modifications to remote voting, being the first item we are set to debate. If the majority keeps this item on the schedule, we will see if they attempt to allow Sen. Mitchell to remotely vote while dealing with her legal issues, or if they will accept amendments prohibiting remote voting from prison or while on bail. This will be one of the most interesting weeks in my 9 years in the Legislature. Further questions that remain to be answered is what this will mean for the Democrat’s slim majority and if Sen. Mitchell will remain in office. The Senate has the ability to punish members for unethical conduct including the ability to expel a member with a two-thirds vote. With one potential special election already looming due to a Democrat Senator running for Congressman Dean Phillip’s seat, we will see if Democrats are willing to further compromise their majority by expelling Sen. Mitchell if she is guilty. | Pattern of Democrat Arrests Sen. Mitchell is not the only incumbent Democrat legislator to be arrested. In fact, she is the third Democrat legislator to be arrested in just the last year. | Pictured above left to right: Sen. Nicole Mitchell, Rep. Dan Wolgamott, and Rep. Brion Curran You may wonder if this is a trend we should start to expect from the caucus that promotes lawlessness and letting criminals off the hook. | For over 20 years, the Minnesota Department of Education has publicly released results for the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment test at the beginning of each school year. Recently, House Democrats defended a provision in their Education Policy omnibus bill to delay the next release of results to December 1st. With little reason given why Democrats support this, it leads to speculation that Democrats are covering up the continuing trend of poor test results despite their massive amount of spending on education in 2023 until after the November election. | Conservative, pro-parent victories in the 2023 school board elections are making a difference in Anoka-Hennepin School District where 3 elected conservative candidates are using their newly gained leverage against the 3 elected liberal members to stand strong against passing a budget that’s filled with left-wing priorities. Far-left activists have mobilized students at the school for propaganda purposes to protest for getting the budget passed. I commend board members Arco, Hoekman, and Audette for standing strong for the priorities of their constituents and demanding a budget clean of left-wing cultural indoctrination. | Democrats brought teacher's union representatives into the Education Finance committee last week to complain of supposed racism and problematic material in school. Their complaints included Cinderella, "white perspectives" on space travel, and excepts from the bible. You can listen to their comments here. | Unfunded mandates passed by the Democrat-trifecta is financially crushing our schools. | De-banking, de-platforming, weaponization of government, and other discrimination against those with certain constitutional, religious, political, and other views continues. | Are you dependent on city water or are you on a private well? | Data on Americans stolen, $22 million ransom paid. | Happy to see at least one Democrat tax hike fail to pass. | Only a seared conscience fails to be sickened by murder of the voiceless and vulnerable as a profit-making business model. | Sen.
