John, I may not be on the ballot myself this time in 2024, but that won’t stop me from supporting our NC Democratic nominees ahead of this year’s critical elections.
There is so much work left to do for our state — including restoring and protecting women’s reproductive freedom.
In April 2023, Rep. Tricia Cotham left the Democratic Party to give the Republicans a one-vote supermajority that allowed them to pass a cruel abortion ban. When Cotham ran as a Democrat, she pledged to her supporters that she would protect reproductive health care. She lied.
This November, it’s up to us to DEFEAT Tricia Cotham and anti-abortion GOP legislators to restore abortion rights in North Carolina. I’m urging you to join me in supporting Cotham’s opponent, Democrat Nicole Sidman, by splitting a contribution between her campaign and my team today. [[link removed]]

Subject: Tricia Cotham gave Republicans a supermajority
John —
On April 5, 2023, a state representative who ran as a Democrat in a safe Democratic district switched parties — giving the NC GOP a veto-proof supermajority in our legislature.
Tricia Cotham ran on a platform of protecting reproductive health care. Instead of keeping her word, she betrayed her constituents and voted to enact the dangerous Republican abortion ban after her party switch. Every single Republican voted to override my veto while every single Democrat voted to sustain it. Without her party switch, this disastrous ban could have been stopped.
John, in 2024, we need to break the GOP supermajority — starting with defeating Tricia Cotham.
Her opponent, Democrat Nicole Sidman, is running on a platform of protecting and restoring our fundamental rights, including access to abortion care. But with new district lines in place, the race is a toss-up. It’s also likely to be one of the most expensive races in General Assembly history.
You can help defeat Tricia Cotham and break the GOP supermajority by splitting a contribution between my team and Nicole Sidman’s campaign today. Any amount you give will go a long way in a race this competitive. [[link removed]]

North Carolina is set to be one of the most important swing states in the 2024 elections.
Republicans need to win NC to return Donald Trump to the White House. Meanwhile, Roy is committed to flipping our state blue for President Biden.
Roy is term-limited and can’t run again this time, and our upcoming gubernatorial election is considered the most competitive gubernatorial contest in the country. Meanwhile, Republicans hold just one-seat supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature — we MUST break the supermajorities to prevent the GOP from enacting their radical agenda in North Carolina.
Join Roy in the fight to elect Democrats at every level of the North Carolina ballot this November. Donate today. [[link removed]]
