National Domestic Workers Alliance

Dear John

So many nannies, house cleaners and care workers have lost work because of the coronavirus pandemic. The lack of basic safety nets for us means that many of us are having to choose between paying our bills or rent, even though we work so hard caring for the things most precious - homes and families.

And unfortunately, many of us don’t qualify for unemployment insurance or other federal assistance because we are immigrants or other legal reasons. We spend our days caring for our city -- by cleaning homes and taking care of children, the elderly, and those who are disabled or struggling with illness. Now, we need our city to care for us!

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and our City Council can support us by making $5 million of cash assistance available to domestic workers and all of the other workers who are ineligible for assistance. They are voting on this TOMORROW, so they need to hear from YOU today!

Click here to send Mayor Bowser and Chairman Mendelson an email asking them to make $5 million available for D.C. workers! It will only take a minute, but you need to do it TODAY.

Thank you for your support,

Fatima
